The Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) Systems Engineering team on the Airborne Early Warning and Command (AEW& C) Group in Oklahoma City, OK, has an opening for a Software Development Team Lead.

The selected candidate reports to the AEW& C Software Development Manager and will lead a team of software engineers with diverse backgrounds and skill levels on AEW& C programs.

The selectedcandidate will have responsibility for developing software throughout the full software lifecycle.

Position Responsibilities * Leads activities to develop, document and maintain architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.

* Leads development of code and integration of complex software components into a fully functional software system.

* Develops software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

* Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities.

* Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics.

* Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects.

* Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations.

* Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards.

* Collaborates with external Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Program Management * Develops and executes project and process plans and leads process improvements.

* Reviews/develops requirements, designs and schedules for Software Development across various domains and capabilities to achieve program requirements.

Provide oversight for Software Development execution to ensure adherence to established plans.

* Tracks progress/performance across all IPT’s (not only Software efforts) to determine impacts and develop remediation plans to present to leadership.

* Defines Hardware requirements and support definition of Hardware Architectures.

* Provides leadership to a team of approximately 15 software engineers.

* Performs software tasking that not only accomplishes team objectives but facilitates development of less experienced software engineers.

* Scopes out and plan software modifications and provide technical coaching to teammates.

* Provides recommendations for technical approaches, products and processes.

* Leads, mentors, and motivates teammates.

Work Authorization : This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): * Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

* 5+ years of experience with software development * 1+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams.

* 1+ years of programming experience with any of the following software development languages; Ada, C, C++, C#, JAVA.

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25% of the time?

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): * 2+ years experience in relevant complex systems integration and test domains.

* Experience with C++ and/or Java * Experience as a CAM.

* Experience in Risk Assessment.

* Experience in developing/maintaining engineering labs for software development and test purposes.

* Experience in HW integration and verification.

* Experience in Software Architecture/Development * Experience in developing/maintaining team schedules, process and performance metrics, risk management and other project management skills is highly desired.

* Experience in requirements and interface development.

* Experience in embedded real-time software development * Experience with SAFe or other Agile development.

* Airborne surveillance, command and control domain experience.

* Experience with Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEWC) and/or AWACS product lifecycle.

* The selected candidate must be comfortable in a highly collaborative environment (usually between multiple sites) and possess demonstrated creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
